The Last Picture Show at The Clay Theater

San Francisco’s Fillmore District is going to lose its single screen theater August 29.
The last show will be the midnight screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with live cast and audience partici——-PATION.
The San Francisco Chronicle article I’ve attached pretty well describes why this will likely be the fate of all the others in town: see especially Gary Meyer quote.
Fortunately, Robert Redford’s initiative, The Sundance KABUKI Cinema at Fillmore and Post, seems to be thriving on overpriced amenities and adult beverages.
Stay tuned to see if the San Francisco Film Society can save the Clay from the wrecking ball.
